Disasters Come

The pain,
heartache,
suffering,
turmoil,
death,
disasters,
all that once experiences
presents multiple routes of action
with which one can ultimately choose to take,
or not take, for that matter.
When one falls to their knees
filled with grief
and suffering,
and feeling lost,
it often seems to be easier
to stay down amidst the
cold concrete,
and dusty floors,
and all that surrounds the heart
wreaking havoc,
physically and emotionally.

The strength to stand up,
seeming too much to muster,
and near impossible,
for nearly everyone.
But deep down,
there is a greater strength,
a wanting,
a desire to
stand up.
A longing to feel found,
safe,
whole,
alive.
It seems like
a like cause but,
it is just the opposite.

Every time one musters
the strength,
the will,
the desire to stand,
an ounce of impossibility falls
away.
Things don't seems so
impossible anymore,
but rather
totally
possible.

A great feat
with the greatest opportunity
to learn and grow,
emotionally and physically.
There is a different
light shed on grief,
one that is of optimism,
possibilities to come,
a purpose.
By no means,
is standing up an easy task.
For most,
there are foresty growths,
of vines and moss,
surrounding their heart and soul.
The strength mustered to stand up
slowly pulls away the vines and moss
to rediscover their heart and soul,
a little bit stronger than before.

Once on one's feet,
the struggle to stay up is
easier said than done,
but not at all impossible.
With faith in one's self,
trust in one's abilities and,
perseverance through the darkness,
moving away from all that was hindering
becomes an even greater motivation
for that which is deep down,
where there is a greater strength
a wanting,
a desire to
stand up.

"For I can do all things
through Him
who gives me strength"

"Therefore,
if anyone is in Christ,
the  new creation has come:
The old gone,
the new is here!
All of this is from God,
who reconciled us to himself
through Christ
and gave us the ministry of
reconciliation:
that God was reconciling
the world to himself in Christ,
not counting people's sins against them.
And he has committed to us
the message of reconciliation.
We are therefore,
Christ's ambassadors,
as though
God were making his appeal through us.
We implore you
on Christ's behalf:
Be reconciled to God.
God made him who had no sin
to be sin
for us,
so that in him
we might become
the righteousness of God."
